J/U-Card Designer v0.8.3

v0.8.3 · Discogs scan auto-trim + print-ready J/U-card layouts

Adapts your own images only. No artwork is generated or invented — only cropped, scaled, rotated, repositioned, sampled for color, or paired with flat colors and type.

Ctrl+Z to undo, Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo.

0. Insert Type

J-card mode: 1" flap, 0.5" spine, 2.5625" front. Final art: 1219 × 1200 px at 300 DPI.

1. Album Import optional

Search imports general album metadata from iTunes. Everything stays editable after import.

Discogs cassette lookup release-specific

Use this to find actual cassette releases and user-contributed release images. Full image import requires the included Cloudflare Pages Function and a server-side Discogs token.

Discogs lookup is optional. iTunes import remains available above.

Upload finished front/flap images, then either use the front cover for the spine or upload a dedicated spine image.

No source images uploaded yet.

Print quality warnings will appear here after upload.

3. Assemble

Use the flap upload for a pre-composed back/flap image. For odd album layouts, make the flap externally and upload it here as one image.

4. Edit Panel

Upload artwork or choose a panel to edit.

5. Selected Panel Image

No panel image selected. Click Edit Front, Edit Spine, or Edit Flap/Back.

Fit / Move / Rotate

Advanced crop from source image

Mostly for spine strips. For complicated flap collages, make a finished flap image externally and upload it in section 1.

Rotation presets

Drag the selected image on the canvas to reposition it. Arrow keys nudge 1px; Shift + arrow nudges 10px.

6. Text
Side 1: 0:00 · 0 lines
Side 2: 0:00 · 0 lines

Durations like “Track Name (3:42)” are totaled automatically. Front-cover text overlay is optional and off by default so imported covers stay clean.

7. Backgrounds

A panel override replaces the global background for that panel only.

8. Color Sampling

Useful when only part of a source (e.g. a tracklist crop) is placed — sample the full source's color and apply it to the whole panel so it looks continuous.

8. Guides
10. Project

Autosave keeps a local browser copy when storage allows. JSON export is still the safest backup.

11. Export

PDF exports place the bordered guide at exact 300 DPI size on Letter paper. Print at 100%, not fit-to-page.
